The US employment cost figures were expected to send the DOW plunging.The cost figures measure employers pay and workers pay. However, the figures rose less than expected in the 3rd quarter, which meant economic growth but no inflation. The rize was 0.8% down fron 1.1% in the 2nd quarter. This was lower than the 0.9% forecast by economists.
